Uzupis declared itself a playful republic in 1997 and displays its constitution on mirrored plaques near Paupio Street. The Angel of Uzupis column marks the neighborhood main square east of the Old Town.
The neoclassical cathedral was rebuilt by Laurynas Gucevicius in the late 18th century on the city main sacred site. The free-standing bell tower and Cathedral Square form the natural start of an Old Town walk.
Founded in 1334 and it's their monks who are commemorated by the Three Crosses. It's in shabby condition, but you can access the church daily 07:00-22:30.
