About Dubrovnik
City overview
Dubrovnik is a limestone-walled Adriatic city where the Stradun, old harbor, and fortresses sit between steep Mount Srd and the sea. First trips work by separating the pedestrian Old Town from the gate districts of Pile and Ploče, then using Lapad, Gruz, and Babin Kuk for beaches, buses, and ferries.
Food & drink
Dubrovnik food leans coastal, with black risotto, buzara mussels, grilled fish, zelena menestra, pasticada, rozata custard, and bitter-orange sweets. Gundulićeva Poljana market, Gruz fish market, Stradun side lanes, and Lapad restaurants are the useful food anchors.

4Stradun and Pile Gate
The Stradun is the polished limestone main street from Pile Gate to the old port side of town. It links Onofrio Fountain, the Franciscan Monastery, Luza Square, and the clock tower in one straight axis.
5City Walls
The stone walls run almost 2km around the Old Town, with towers, sea views, and close looks down into churches and courtyards. Walk early or late because the route is exposed and cruise crowds concentrate at Pile Gate.
Wikipedia6Old Port
The old harbor sits inside the eastern walls with small boats, breakwaters, and views back to St. John Fortress. Lokrum ferries and short harbor walks start here in season.
Wikipedia7Sponza Palace
Sponza Palace survived the 1667 earthquake and preserves the city archive in a Gothic-Renaissance courtyard. It stands at the east end of the Stradun beside the bell tower and Orlando Column.
Wikipedia8Dubrovnik Cable Car and Mount Srd
The cable car climbs from above Ploče to Mount Srd for the classic view over the Old Town, Lokrum, and the Elaphiti islands. The hill also holds Fort Imperial and the Homeland War museum.
